Hey Guitarists! So many changes lately it’s hard to keep up, but here’s a few important notes.
DGO Rehearsals:
- Our rehearsals won’t be live online for now. We are recording them as MP3 and then posting them later in the week on the front page. So anybody can practice from the rehearsals anytime it’s convenient. Please check them each week and listen to the entire recording with your sheet music and your guitar. It will make you a better player and will make you a part of something big.
- If you need sheet music for the orchestra rehearsals, you’ll need to email me. The repertoire list is on the front page.
- We will be planning on performing on Sundays outside of Grant Street and I’ll start seeing how soon we can have our first gig. If you are in Denver, make sure you have all the things you need to go to a gig and perform such as a music stand, music stand light, all of your sheet music in alphabetical order, and of course a million dollar guitar with a twelve dollar tuner.
New Music:
- I am working on more large group stuff. As always.
- I am trying to clean up our existing large group stuff into our current format (which better supports schools and “standard notation” readers).
- I am taking a deep dive into Books 1, 2, and 3 to make sure they’re the fastest way to acquire the necessary skills. If you have strong opinions on what might need adjusting in the education program, please share with me via email.
- And as always, I do take song requests. Sometimes I actually arrange them too. I need stuff with a strong melody.
New Mexico:
- As you know, I needed to move to Albuquerque and I am looking for a place to meet here in town and in Santa Fe. I will keep you posted as things move along.
- If you know anybody in either Santa Fe or Albuquerque and they like coffee, I’d love to chat with them over a cup. Please send them my email address so we can start yet another great guitar thing here in the Land of Enchantment.
